Cumberland Trails Gallery
As a connection to the trails along the Chattahoochee,
Akers Mill Trail
is a nice side street trail. The south is a glorified sidewalk that connects the Bob Callan to Akers Mill shopping center, Cumberland Mall, etc. Scroll down to continue the Cumberland Trails Gallery.
Being a multi-use trail, Akers Mill Trail connects the
Bob Callan Trailhead
with the National Park Service at the Chattahoochee River’s Cochran Shoals Recreation Area.
The trails are excellent connections for residents and visitors to explore and interact with Cumberland’s attractions and rich natural assets.
They are Dog-Friendly trails, and perfect for pedestrians, hikers, and cyclists.
Bob Callan Trail is on Chattahoochee River, Rottenwood Creek, and Long Island Creek in Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, GA.
Bob Callan Trail
is paved the entire way and is very scenic, crossing over the Chattahoochee River via bridges is highly recommended for anyone looking to have a nice run, walk, or biking session outdoors!
Cochran Shoals trail
follows the western bank of the Chattahoochee River for nearly two miles.
The beauty of Cochran Shoals is not just its location along the Chattahoochee River, but the array of trail systems that are exceptional for trail running, hiking or mountain biking.
The Cochran Shoals loop offers views of the Chattahoochee River between the trees, while the wooded trails frequently cross creeks and traverse the rim of small valleys.
The southern end of the Cochran Shoals Trail marks the beginning of the paved Akers Mill Trail, which enables you to extend your journey west and connect to various other trails in Cumberland and Smyrna.

The
West Palisades Trail
explores the scenic Paces Mill Park near Vinings, one of the Chattahoochee River’s most popular recreation areas in metro Atlanta.
The Paces Mill Park’s broad network of running, walking and biking trails, including the West Palisades Trail, Bob Callan Trail and Rottenwood Creek Trail, follow a paved path through a wooded forest and explore riverine ecosystems that are great for spotting wildlife.
Paces Mill is a great trail for all types. Wonderful loop trail in the woods along the Chattahoochee just off the bob Callahan trail. This loop connects to a nice mountain so expect a slight change of elevation to get the heart pumping.
